Are We Prepared?

We got a call from our home teacher this morning. Our Stake President wants everyone in the stake to live for the next week on whatever is in our pantry and fridge right now. We are meeting the challange and am happy to say that we are pretty prepared! We're a little skimpy on the milk, but I do have some powdered milk and we don't have eggs, but other than that, I think we'll be o.k. The nice part is that it eliminated my need to have to go to the grocery store today (I hate to grocery shop!). And it's already opened my eyes as to what we need to be prepared should any catasrophe happen. I'll let you know how we did at the end of the week!

We'd have enough food, but as soon as we ran out of potatoes and chicken Matt would starve. Powdered milk? I remember using that when I was a kid, it was gross.

Wow, that's quite a challenge. I'm pretty sure that we couldn't do it at all. Maybe we should get prepared!

Wow, what a great idea. We could do it too, and we're college students. Although I might have a problem if the call came when we have only 2 rolls of toliet paper left. I stock up on diapers, but TP is another story.

What an interesting idea. That would be really good for us. Greg always gets aggravated whenever I buy extra of anything for food storage (except for Mountain Dew of course.) But having something like that would definitely change his mind I think. Good luck! I'll be interested to hear how it all turns out.

Great job on being willing to do that- there's no way in heck I'd go with out milk- well I guess if there was a real emergency I would have to!

So the comment your Perkins family made cracked me up. I had made a similar comment, but deleted it thinking I shouldn't write about toilet paper- but my comment was going with out toilet paper and deodorant- those are some things that I just wouldn't be able to go with out, and I'm sure many people wouldn't want me to go with out!!!

How did it go? I don't think we would have made it the week you were called. But made me think about things that we would need. How is everything else going for you?
