I hope I survive...

I hope I survive having the boys home all summer. I have been counting down the days 'til Porter is out of school and we get to start summer break - meaning, sleeping in, no schedules to keep and lots of free time to play. Sounds heavenly, huh?

Porter has had an ear infection lately along with a fever and a cough, then the stomach flu yesterday, so I kept him home from school today to let him recooperate. I cancelled preschool today and didn't have the boy I watch come over, so Zach was left with nothing to do all day... except bug his brothers, which he does quite well. Zach has a tendency to get bored quickly, and when he does, he creates lots of trouble; which results in some quality time in time-out. Between that and Porter's tattling, and Andrew's fit over what he wanted for lunch, I don't know if I'm looking forward to summer break so much anymore. I guess it just teaches me that I'm going to need A LOT of activities for the boys to do. So if anyone needs a play-date - you know who to call!

I wish we lived close enough to have a play date. Kaden, my two year old, sounds just like Zack except he gets to pester his big sister. Let me just tell you that she is a screamer (high pitched, full on scream) when her brother pesters her. We could have lots of fun and Bekkah would love for someone else to play with Kaden.

Oh man, Savannah is the same way. Getting bored means getting into the cupboard or whining here. Too bad we don't live closer to each other. I'm sorry to hear that Porter is sick. That's definitely not any fun. I'll keep sending you the craft/activity websites that I've been looking at.

I never worry about you Steph - you are a professional mom. You will have a million things for your boys to be doing everyday, along with a healthy diet, and good exercise even! You are just good at that.

Sorry to hear about Porter being sick. Hope he feels better soon!

Steph, this is your husband. Please do not allow our boys to participate in 'play dates'. They are allowed to hang out with friends or even to play with friends, but 'play dates' are strictly forbidden.

Rhett is too funny! I feel the same way about summe- I love it, but hate it too! We did a marble jar for each child last year and it worked great! They each had a jar they got to decorate, then when they had good bhavior I put a marble in- they couldn't tell me they did something good- I had to notice on my own. Then if there was misbehaving- they lost a marble. Each marble was worth money that they got to spend on our trip to LV- Lexi and Ashlee had around $20, Carly had around $10. If they were fighting I would pick up a jar and give it a little shake and the fighting stopped immediatley- it worked so well we are doing it again this summer! Good luck!
