Joy Ride

Last Thursday I had to pick up a bunch of boxes, so I had to stow/fold down my back seat in my van. I had set up the seat again and had faith that the legs of the seat had locked into the latches. So Friday morning, I loaded all the boys into the car so we could go to the school. Porter was the only one sitting in the very back and I backed out of the driveway. I accelerated to head down the street when I heard a big THUD!! I looked back to see Porter's feet in the air - the seat hadn't latched and had fallen backward - with him in it!!! I was so suprised; I quickly stopped the car and turned around to make sure he was o.k. He sat the seat up and I asked him, "Porter - are you o.k.?"

"Yea, mom. I'm o.k." he said. "Weeee!"

That's so funny! I have done the same thing, but never had a kid get a ride from it. Don't you love when you forget to latch the carseat into the car and the kid (latched into the carseat) falls forward with an abrubt stop!?

Gotta Love those boys!!! Always loving any type of ride. So...do you have one of those nice Stow & Go Vans? We are looking at a new van...I am really liking the Stow & Go!

haha. I was laughing so hard as I read this post because I just did that, but with Jenna's carseat. I thought it had been buckeled back in when I went to take Anthony to school and turned the corner and Jenna tipped over. She was smiling so big and I'm just glad it wasn't an accident that alerted me to the problem!

That's too funny, Good think Porter like rides like that. I'm sure you were pretty surprised when you turned around to see that. I'm so excited to have you guys a little closer. We'll have to come down and visit once your settled in.
